Nicene
Creed
I
believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and
of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord
Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father
before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God,
begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom
all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down
from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary
and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius
Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He
rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and
sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with
glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have
no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and
giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the
Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by
the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic
Church I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look
for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen.

Unconditional
Love
Members of Immanuel Lutheran Church believe that
God loves you unconditionally, and that His will for you is revealed
in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Core
Beliefs
We regularly set
forth our beliefs in the words of the three ecumenical Creeds - the Apostles,' the Nicene, and the Athanasian Creeds.
Here is a summary of the core beliefs of our congregation:
We
believe the Triune God, one God in three persons, - God the
Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, is the only true God.
(Matthew 28:19; Romans 5:1-5)
We believe God the Father
who created the universe is loving, compassionate, just, and kind. His
greatest desire is to live in an intimate relationship with all people
(Genesis 1:1,27; Deuteronomy 32:4; Exodus 34:6-7)
We believe
all human beings are separated from God because of their sin,
and we believe that by God's grace through faith in Jesus as our
Savior, we are forgiven and have a restored relationship with God.
(Roman 3:22-24; 6:23)
We believe because of His desire to live
in a relationship with us, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, true
God and man, born of a virgin, to be the only Savior from the penalty
of sin through His suffering, death, and resurrection. (John 3:16,
14:6; Galatians as 4:4-5; Romans 6:23; Hebrews 7:26-27)
We
believe Jesus sent the Holy Spirit, who speaks through the
Scriptures, lives in us, and teaches us. He gives faith, power, gifts,
and fruit. (John 14:26, 16:13; 1 Corinthians 12:3-7; Galatians
5:22-23)
We believe the Bible is the only infallible,
authoritative Word of God. It is inspired by God and though it God
reveals Himself to us. The Bible is the norm and guide on which we
base our faith. (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:15-17)
We believe
the church is called to worship the Triune God, serve Him, and
be the vehicle through which the Good News is shared with the world.
(Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, 1 Peter 4:10)
We believe the
Confessions of the Lutheran Church are true, and affirm the
centrality of grace alone, faith alone, and Word alone. (Ephesians
2:8-9; John 3:36, 20:31)
We believe in the Sacrament of
Baptism God gives the gift of faith through which we receive
forgiveness and new life as His children. (Matthew 28:19)
We
believe that in the Sacrament of Holy Communion we receive the
true body and blood of Jesus, and God personally assures us that we
are His forgiven and loved children. (Matthew 26:26-28
We
believe human life is precious, that all human beings have
worth because we are created in God's image, and because God loves us
so much that Jesus died for us. (Psalm 139:13-16; John 3:16)
We
believe the primary purpose for which God's children are
created is to be and make disciples of all people. (Matthew
28:19-20)
We believe in and anticipate the return of Jesus
Christ at which time all people will be resurrected, unbelievers
to eternal damnation and punishment, and believers to eternal life
with God. (John 3:36)
